In- Ordinary

In- Ordinary: Understanding the extraordinary layers is the June exhibit at The Black Genius Art Gallery. Located in the Bromo Arts District of downtown Baltimore, MD; The Black Genius Art Gallery offers artists, art enthusiasts, and the community with a space to creatively feel at home with their universal narrative of "CREATE EVERYDAY".  This featured exhibit adds to this narrative through its exploration of the multiple layers of the minority male beyond the color of his skin.  Each artist was challenged to highlight the layers of who they are and the multifaceted roles they play in their everyday lives thru the medium of art in addition to sharing previous works created.  This exhibit explores the way we look at these men beyond what one may visually see on the surface of them in everyday life but what we artistically see from them in their "creative" side.  They are lawyers, engineers, business leaders, community activists, and fathers that hold special spaces for art at their core.  In - ordinary allows us to take the artistic journey with each of these men to explore how what one may observe as an ordinary being on the surface at first glance, when understood is really one of the most extraordinary beings of the world- in any capacity they are in.
